Steps to Redo the Certificate for the FieldEdge Connector
- Log into the computer that has the QuickBooks Connector installed
- You will need to have QuickBooks open and be logged into the company file that FieldEdge integrates with.
- You MUST be logged in as the Admin QuickBooks user in single-user mode.
- Make sure the FieldEdge Connector is fully closed. This can be closed by right-clicking on the tray icon at the bottom right and selecting close. Verify that it is fully closed by checking in the Task Manager.
This is a screenshot showing how to close the connector normally.
- You can open Task Manager by Right-Clicking on the taskbar at the bottom of the screen in a blank spot and clicking on “Task Manager” as shown below.
- Make sure that you don’t see any instance of QuickBooks Connector in Task Manager. If so, you will need to manually end the task by selecting the QuickBooks Connector entry and pushing the End task button as shown below.
- It will now prompt you to rebuild the certificate. You will want to accept any prompt that asks you for permission to access QuickBooks and/or the company file.
- You will now receive a certificate popup to configure as below.
- You will select “Yes, always; allow access even if QuickBooks is not running”.
- Next under “Login as” you will select the user for QuickBooks to automatically login as when running it without QuickBooks already opened. This user needs to be a full-access admin user that is dedicated to the connector.
- Next, you need to check the box below that reads “Allow this application to access personal data such as Social Security Numbers and customer credit card information.”
- Finally, you will press the “Continue” button and you will receive another prompt confirming the update, which you will need to acknowledge and proceed by clicking through.
