If you plan on getting a new mobile phone, prior to resetting your old phone or turning it in, there is a step you need to follow in order to transfer your MFA token(s) to the new device.
On the current/old phone, open the AuthPoint MFA app. In the upper right corner of the app, the 2nd icon from the right shows a Phone to Phone transfer icon.
When click that icon and follow the steps below, WatchGuard will send you an email for any tokens installed, to your email associated with those tokens.
After setting your new device, re-install WatchGuard AuthPoint, then follow the instructions in your email to setup the MFA token(s) on the new phone.
Should you not follow these steps, you will need to come to our https://r360.com/chat to provide us with your user ID so we can deactivate your previous MFA tokens and send you the email to activate the new ones.
If you are sharing your user id with other people (business partners, bookkeepers, CPAs) and they installed one of your tokens on their phone, those will be de-activated in this process as well. With our new Cyber Security Insurance and ZeroTrust Architecture, all physical users will need their own unique user ids created on our servers for security auditing requirements.
With Apple releasing new versions of iOS next week and launching new iPhones, we are just trying to get ahead of the upgrade process so that you can migrate your tokens without needing to come to support.
Again, please come to https://r360.com/chat for any questions or support.
