Moving the QuickBooks Web Connector

The nature of the web connector is it can only be running on 1 PC, and there can only be 1 connection between Recur360 and QuickBooks.

If you acquired a new computer, just want to move it to a different computer, or are in a remote desktop environment under a different user session.

You first must remove the web connector application from the web connector and out of QuickBooks.

Remove the web connector application from the web connector and out of QuickBooks
    • Log in to Recur360
    • Log into QuickBooks as Admin in single user mode
    • Open the Web Connector

Web Connector

In the Web Connector select the application, then click remove.

It will ask if you no longer want to exchange data and remove the application

    • Click "yes"

QuickBooks Desktop

Go to edit- preferences

    •  Integrated applications and click the company preferences tab.

    • Click the line then "Remove" to remove it from QuickBooks.

Download and Reconnect the Web Connector

Now you can download the Web Connector again and reconnect it.

Recur360

In Recur360 go to Settings-Account

In some cases, the file path may need to be reset. It is always preferred to reset it to prevent errors moving forward.

    • Once the file path has reset it will look like:

    • Scroll to the bottom and select the "Redownload QuickBooks Web Connector or Reset Your QuickBooks Web Connector Password"

    • Under step 3 you will need to download the web connector file.

The rest of the steps will outline the process.

4.  Run the QuickBooks Web Connector and choose the "Add an Application..." option.        Select the downloaded .qwc file and open it.

5. A popup will appear notifying you that a web-based application is requesting                 access to QuickBooks data through the QuickBooks Web Connector.

    • If all of the information on that popup looks correct, push "OK".

6. A second popup will appear with options to configure how RECUR360 can access         your QuickBooks Desktop files.

    • It is recommended that you set it to allow access even when QuickBooks is not running, logging in as the admin user of the file, like in the screenshot below.
    • After making your selection, push "Continue...", and then push "Done"

7.  You should now see the RECUR360 application in the QuickBooks Web Connector.

    • In the "Password" field next to the application, you need to enter in your Recur360 QuickBooks Web Connector password.
    • In Recur360 you will need to click Generate QuickBooks Web Connector Password.

    • When the new password has generated it will look like:

    • Click Copy Password

    • Paste the new password in the Web Connector.

    • Click the "Enter" button on the keyboard and then click "yes".

 8. Finally, make sure your QuickBooks Desktop file is still open and perform a                      validation check by checking the box next to the RECUR360 application and                  pushing "Update Selected" in the QuickBooks Web Connector.

    • (*You can do this any time you want to force RECUR360 and QuickBooks to communicate, rather than waiting for the Web Connector to auto-run)

9.  If the attempt is successful, push continue below to begin using RECUR360!

Sync with QuickBooks

To make sure the sync works properly you can do a sync with QuickBooks

In Recur360

On the left blue menu in Recur360 click "QuickBooks Sync Status".

    • Then click "Sync with QuickBooks"

    • This will queue a sync task for when the Web Connector is run next.

In the Web Connector

Now go back to the web connector and make sure the Recur360 application is selected.

    • Then select "Update Selected"

    • This will initiate a normal sync to make sure everything is working properly.

Cannot Remove the Web Connector from QuickBooks

This can happen for various reasons, you computer crashes, QuickBooks was uninstalled, or there is just no way to access the pervious device.

    • There are additional steps needed to complete the process, and the best thing is to reach out to support.
